We aim to cater for and welcome all visitors to our farm based bed and breakfast. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions please feel free to call us and we will always try to help.


  • We are situated directly on Parkgate Road, Woodbank. (A540). This is a main road between Chester and Wirral.

  • There is an hourly bus service, to Chester & Wirral during the day, with stops in both directions being a few minutes walk away. The nearest railway station is Capenhurst, approximately 1 ½ miles and 10 minutes away by car. There is a main line station in Chester, some 5 ½ mile away. Taxis are readily available outside Chester Station can be hired.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

  • Hazels Farm is on Parkgate Road, Woodbank, and adjacent to a property called The Old Post Office. There is a mini lay bye outside the Old Post Office. Parkgate is an adopted road with a footpath. Access is via a dropped kerb.

  • On arrival, there is a gravel level drive. There are no marked parking bays.

  • There is a small step up to the front door.

  • We can help all guests with luggage if needed.

Main Entrance

  • The front door opens into porch, via a small step, there is then another door to a small hall leading to the stairs and kitchen / dinning room.

  • The porch and hall floors are tiled.

Public Areas - Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors, etc.

  • From the hall there is a flight of steps to the main landing. One of the Bed & Breakfast Rooms is off the main landing, and there are a further 3 steps to another landing, giving access to the other bed room. The floor finish to the stairs and landing is wood.

  • Breakfast is served in the dining room, which is accessed via the kitchen, which is off the small hall by the main entrance.

  • The breakfast room is available as a residents lounge.

  • There is large wooden kitchen table that accommodates up to 8 people.

Outdoor Facilities

  • Bikes can be stored in one of our shed if required.

  • There is a garden area to the rear of the house that can be used by residents and seating is available.

  • Guests are welcome to meet the animals, but be aware that we do use electric fencing (look out for the white tape and rope), and close all gates when you go trough them.

  • There is a public footpath across one of our fields, with a pleasant walk into Capenhurst.

  • There is a network of public footpaths in the area. Please ask for more details.


Bedroom 1 is accessed from the higher landing. There is a super-king size bed, with access to both sides.

The en-suite is accessed via three steps within the bed room.

There is a chair and dressing table with seat in the room, together with built in wardrobe.

There is a bedside cupboard each side of the bed.

The bedroom is carpeted.

There is a bath, with shower over it, wc, bidet and sink in the en-suite.

The floor to the en-suite is vinyl.

Bedroom 2 is accessed from the lower landing. There is a door to a small hallway (wood floor) with doors leading off to the bedroom and en-suite.

There is a king size bed, with access to both sides.

There is a chair and dressing table in the room, together with built in wardrobe.

There is a bedside cupboard each side of the bed.

The bedroom is carpeted.

There is a shower with approximately a 150mm step into the cubical, WC and sink in the ensuite.

The floor to the en-suite is vinyl.

Additional Information

  • There is an electrically linked fire alarm system in the property together with emergency          lighting. The fire exit is via the main front door, and assembly point by the stables.

  • All guests are provided with a front door key, together with a room key.

  • The internal front door can be locked with a thumb latch; the external door needs a key.

  • No smoking is permitted throughout the entire house.

  • No dogs other than service dogs.
